Frequently Asked Questions:
Where & When?
We're proudly hosting this event at Denstone Village Hall's Carpark, Right at the very heart of the village on Saturday 27th July 2024.
Timings...
The gates open at 10am, with breakfast options available from some of our traders. As we approach 12 noon all traders will be open with live performances to start the afternoon session off.
Entry Fee?
Entry is free to the event. If you would like to purchase alcohol from the bar you will be required to pay £1.00 for your "ID Checked" Wristband, Glass & Event Programme. These are available on the day and will be sign posted.
ID Checked Wristband?
We operate a strict challenge 25 scheme in accordance with local licensing. We will require ID to issue you with your own wristband. All wristband wearers must individually present their ID and collect their own wristband. We cannot allow multiple/group collections of bands due to our license agreement.
Car Parking...
Understandably the Village Hall Car Park will be closed throughout the day. Very limited parking will be available locally but we recommend walking or cycling to the event.
Toilets
Toilets including a disabled access toilet are available inside the Village Hall Foyer throughout the event.
Cash / Card / Tokens?
All traders will be accepting Cash & Card transactions. The bar will be operating a token system to speed up service and these can be purchased along with your wristbands. If you have any unused tokens please consider donating them to the lights fund!
Is this a family event?
Absolutely! As a close knit village we love every member of our families, be they grand parents, kids, or even our dogs, everyone and their dog is invited to join in the day!
Are my dogs welcome?
ABSOLUTELY! We're super dog friendly and would love to see some of our favourite canine friends! We just ask that they are kept on a leash and under supervision.
What's it all in aid of?
Over the past decade, the village has been known for its fabulous Christmas Lights & their switch on events. As with everything these days, costs of repairs and replacements are going up and up, so each of our traders is donating their pitch fees to the Village Christmas Light Fund to help Peter & his team make this year shine bright once more! Please feel free to donate any coins or leftover tokens into the donation buckets around the event!
Who's behind the event?
Born from an idea back in 2023 as a way to help raise some funds for the lights, Jai Byron started piecing together contacts and suppliers who wanted to also get involved with helping the village's display and maintenance. Joining forces with Liz Ratcliffe & Peter Smith along with a whole host of friends & helpers we've taken the plunge and hope to bring you a slice of summer this July! Here's hoping to many more!
